Though Sylvia may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Sylvia touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Leneva W. Lindsey Strader and Drewey Wimple Strader; her sister Betty McIntyre; and her granddaughter Tiffany Chandler. She is survived by : her sons, Rick Owen (Priscilla) and Eugene Chandler Sr.; her siblings, Larry Strader (Sandra) and Delores Bayes; and her grandchildren, Drew Chandler and Cody Owen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 28th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Swicegood Funeral Home (564 W Main St, Danville, VA 24541). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
