He was predeceased by: his parents, August Beck and Berta Beck; and his former wife Judith Vashti Beck. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Beck of Danville, VA.; his sister Gertrud Pfieffer of Mengen, Germany; his children, Nick Beck (Kim) of Cincinnati, OH and Patricia Geddes (Tom) of Quinton, VA; and his stepchildren, Marcia Cobb-Payne (Mike) of Danville, VA, Sarah Gentry of Danville, VA and W. Reid Davis (Teresa) of Danville, VA. He is also survived by several grandchildren and one great grandson.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National MS Society, St. Jude's or the Dementia Society.
