He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Moorefield and Irene Bowman; his children, Michael Moorefield and Patricia Hedrick; and his granddaughter Danielle Seigneurie.

He is survived by: his wife Mary "Midget" Moorefield; his children, Penny Jarrett and Wade Moorefield, Jr. (Debbie); and his stepchildren, Sammy Wallace Jr. and Sandra Martin. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren.
