It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda Lee Thompson in Danville, Virginia, born in Akron, Ohio, who passed away on January 19, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alonzo William Jones and Mary Lavinia Morrison Jones. She is survived by: her husband Richard L. "Red" Thompson; and her children, Gayla Sue Reed of Cuba, MO, David Thompson (Kathy) of Ringgold, VA, Susan Thompson (James Yarbough) of Liberty, NC, Jayne Powers-Burnette (Michael) of Millboro, VA and Wayne Thompson of Mebane, NC. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
