He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Lee Davis and Dorothy Evans Davis Hundley; his wife Judy Pruitt Davis; and his siblings, Sue Allen, Margie Lee Thomas, Janice McCormick, Louise Pruitt, Ronnie and Garrie Davis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Laura Ann Davis and Jennifer D. Hodges (Mike); his grandchildren, Ashley Murphy (Hunter) and Zachary Green; his great grandchildren, Noah Murphy and Evelyn Murphy; and his siblings, Charles Davis, Shirley Crumpton, Valerie Phelps and Teresa Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew.
