It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Eugene Cook of Dayton, Virginia, who passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Galen L. Cook and Bernice Arlene Cook (Huffer); and his son Jason Cook. He is survived by: his children, Wesley Cook (Kara) and Melissa Miller (Brent); his brothers, Timothy Cook and Tom Cook, Sr.; his caregiver Lorna; and also, Marianda Shiplet, Hannah Pierce and Jimmy. He is also survived by two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Dayton American Legion (3021 John Wayland Hwy, Dayton, VA 22821).
