She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Raines and Annie Marshall Raines; her husband Harry Ruel Byrd of Dayton; her daughter Dottie Byrd Erbaugh; and her sister Ruth Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, Harry R. Byrd, Jr. (Susanne), William Byrd (Nancy), John Byrd (Ann) and Ted Byrd (Stephanne); her sisters, Ellen Blose of Rockingham and Mary Sepulveda (Benny) of Pensacola, FL; her siblings-in-law, Flora Belle Byrd of Bridgewater, Peggy Raines of McGaheysville, Martha Cline of Lynchburg, Eloise Byrd of McLean and Eddie Garber of New Market; and her grandchildren, Rebecca Byrd, Adam Byrd, Bonnie Byrd, Sarah Byrd, Katherine Byrd, Julie Byrd, Mary Lods, Marshall Byrd, Paul Byrd, Ali Boyd, Peter Byrd, Jacob Byrd, Joshua Byrd, Chris Erbaugh, Derek Erbaugh and Leah Erbaugh. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service (208 S Main St, Bridgewater, VA 22812). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Dayton United Methodist Church (215 Ashby St, Dayton, VA 22821).
