He was predeceased by: his parents, Butch Scott and Sarah Goins Scott; and his siblings, Sarah Mayo, Steve Scott, PeeWee Scott, Robert Scott, Floyd Scott and Johnny Scott.

He is survived by: his wife Penny Scott; his children, Faye Scott, Steve Scott (Shelby), Andy Scott (Bonnie), Barbara Goode, Kelly Scott and John Tackett; and his siblings, Virginia Taylor, Mary Ann Yates, Leonard Scott and Bobbie Burton. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 11 great, grandchildren; two great, great, grandchildren.
