With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Jerry Edward Ownby of Dillwyn, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Jerry left this world on June 17, 2025 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Ownby and Alma Harris Ownby; and his sister Barbara Ownby Shumaker. He is survived by: his wife Donna Massie Ownby; his sons, Jay Ownby (Christina) and Robert Ownby (Susan); his grandchildren, Tiffany Snoddy (John), Ciera Warner (Jessy), Casey Moseley (DeAndre), Kaitlyn Newton (Ayers), Max Ownby and Allie Ownby; and his brother Rodney Ownby (Sandra). He is also survived by six great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cedar Baptist Church (3932 Bell Rd, Dillwyn, VA 23936). A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Jones Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery (947 Trents Mill Rd, Cumberland, VA 23040). A burial will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cedar Baptist Church building fund.
