He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Kirkland and Lorena Jackson Kirkland; and his nephew Ronald Perdue. He is survived by: his wife Donna Marie Kohout Kirkland; his stepson Brian Jennings (Sara); his stepgrandsons, Brayden and Blake Jennings; his brother Larry Ray Kirkland; his siblings-in-law, Richard and Phyllis Perdue; his sibling's children, Michael Perdue, Larry Ray Kirkland, Jr. (Katelyn), Michelle Perdue Hayden and Jean Michelle Kirkland Smith (Mike); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Riley Kirkland, Grayson Smith, Savannah, Emily, Willow Smith and EmmaRae Kirkland; and his aunt Janet Jackson.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church (7310 Squirrel Level Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805).
