With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joy Ricketts Compton of Dry Fork, Virginia, who passed away on November 19, 2022 at the age of 61. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Violet McGregor Ricketts and Ernest Dudley Ricketts. She is survived by: her husband William Edward Compton, Jr.; her children, Sarah Walden (John), Teresa Duncan, Ricky and William III; and her siblings, Janet Hodnett, Janice Cahill, Joan Knapp and Pete Ricketts. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
