He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Cunningham Leftwich and Dorsey Leftwich Sr.; his son Bernie Leftwich; and his siblings, Lillie Law, Nannie Johnson, Dorsey Leftwich Jr., Percy Leftwich, Harry Leftwich, Sam Leftwich and William Leftwich.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Smith Leftwich; his son Steven Leftwich; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Terrell, Alicia and Bernita; and his daughter-in-law Pam Leftwich. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
