She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Muse and Maggie Muse; her siblings, Jerry Lynn Muse, Stephen Joe Muse, Shannon Rene Holbrook, Joyce Heiny and Linda Gail Muse Dunn; her siblings-in-law, David Jones and Sandra Helton Glaze; her mother-in-law Virginia Killian Johnson; her nephew Joshua Jones; and her niece Kim Muse.
She is survived by: her husband Walter Dean Helton, Jr.; her daughter Anya Cope (Brad); her grandsons, Bodie Cope and Brayden Cope; her siblings, Susie Mosley, Barbara Jones and Gene Muse; her sister-in-law Beth Morris (Mike); her stepson David Helton, Sr.; and her grandson David Helton, Jr.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
