It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Homer Ellis Hampton (Dublin, Virginia), who passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Hampton and Edna Mae Doughten Hampton; his siblings, Wynn, Kemp, Closkie, Hubert Hampton, Mary Ruth Carico and Alberta Stanley; and his nephew Derrell Kyle Blitch, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Joan Hale Hampton of Sevierville, TN; his daughters, Anita Renee Hickman of Sevierville, TN, Cindy Lea Allen (Steve) of Dublin, VA and Jeanne Yvette Solomon (Raymond) of Fayetteville, NC.; his grandchildren, Tracy Blitch of Nevels, GA, Larry Solomon (Becky) of Lillington, NC, Brandon Allen (Katie) of Pearisburg, VA, Brian (Tiffany) of Cameron, NC, Shana Buzzard (Luke) of Dublin, VA, Casey Blitch (Rachel) of Statesboro, GA., Timothy, Jackson and Madison Luciano of Cameron, NC.; his great grandchildren, JD Donaldson, Ava Bowen, Jessica Solomon, Hayden Clark, Ethan Solomon, Frederick Solomon, London Blitch, Sebastian Solomon, Brett Buzzard, Malcolm Buzzard, Kaylee Allen, Emma Allen and Wrenlee Muldiun; and also, Nancy Gibson and Steve Baker.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery (5550 Bagging Plant Rd, Dublin, VA 24084).
