He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Harvey Thornton and Ethel Raye Meredith Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Saul Thornton; his sons, Vince Wayne Thornton (Sherry), Fairlawn, Tim Allen Thornton (Melissa) and Dublin; his grandchildren, Heather Nicole Thornton, Taylor Okes and Alexis Boyd; his great grandchildren, Kayden, Nicholas and Alora; his sister Mae Simpson (Dublin); and his sisters-in-law, Shelvia King, Sherry Mitchell (Otey) and Mary Lee Saul.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory be made to an Animal Shelter of your choice.
