He was predeceased by: his parents, Otha Ray and Beatrice Martin Jenkins; his siblings, Peggy (Kenneth Jones) and Wayne Jenkins; and his nephew Gary Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Christine Cole Jenkins; and his stepchildren, Jennifer Dickerson (Johnny), Mary Swartzer (Scott) and John W. Lancaster II.
