He was predeceased by: his parents, Harbert Garland Harriman and Fannie Wheeling Harriman of Pulaski Virginia; his wife Elsie McGuire Harriman; and his siblings, Bernard Harriman (Bernie), Evelyn Harriman and Mary Jayne Harriman.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Edward Harriman (Chau Kim Harriman) of Virginia Beach, VA and Anne Kathryn Harriman of Virginia Beach; and his sister-in-law Margie McGuire of Rocky Mount, VA. He is also survived by family including his two grandchildren.
