He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Ray Barnes and Diane Aileen Barnes (Barnette); and his sister Susan Kay "Sam" Falin. He is survived by: his close friend Betty Wilder; his son Shawn Barnes; his stepchildren, Faith Rose, Jesse Brooks and Dylan Sprinkle; and his siblings, Bruce "Dickie" Barnes and Annetta "Casey" Vaughn (David). He is also survived by six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Robinette Funeral Home (696 Dr Andrew Jackson Osborne Hwy, Blackwater, VA 24221). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Flag Pond Church Cemetery.
