With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Larry Sylvan Collier of Duffield, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 19, 2025 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Collier and Georgia Collier (Gilly); and his siblings, Edith Smyth, Harry, Howard, Bill, Roy and Paul Collier.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Palmer Collier; his sons, Larry Collier, Jr. (Sharon) and Scott Collier; and his grandchildren, Chris Collier (Candice), Alex Collier and Brittany Dishner (Hunter). He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gate City Funeral Home (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Holston View Cemetery (226 Yuma Rd, Weber City, VA 24290).
