He was predeceased by : his father Manuel Lee Payne; his grandparents, Marian Scott (Nanny) and Louis Scott (Grandaddy); and his aunts and uncles, Judy Nickens, Fleta Scott and Thomas Scott.

He is survived by : his wife Rebecca M. Scott "Bae"; his children, Tierra A. Scott "Sissy", Tamra A. Scott "Moe" and Tycara A. Scott; his grandmother Brevin K. Scott "Buck" (Whitney F. Mauck "Whitty"); his uncles, Greg Scott (Zonetta), Jeff Scott and Joe Nickens Sr.; his cousins, Pamela Scott Green, Joe Nickens Jr. and Akila Bly (Corey); his granddaughter Zyarra Abriel Young; and also, Marissa "Ris", Paisleigh and McKenna.
