He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Jurgensmeyer and Irmine A. Jurgensmeyer (Schwaller); his siblings, Edward, Anthony, Ronald Jurgensmeyer and Susan Jurgensmeyer; his former wife Barbara Reed; and his stepson Michael Reed (Bonnie).
He is survived by: his wife Carol Jurgensmeyer of Edinburg, VA.; his children, Brian Jurgensmeyer of Jefferson City, MO, Thomas Jurgensmeyer (Sheila) of Moncks Corner, SC and Kerry Jurgensmeyer Devaney of Charleston, SC; his stepchildren, Susan Hebert (Russell), Gregory Cross (Michele), Jeffrey Cross (Kimberly) and Brett Cross (Michelle); his siblings, Janice Holtmeyer of St. Charles, MO, William J. Jurgensmeyer of Jefferson City, MO and Patrick Jurgensmeyer of O'Fallon, IL; his grandchildren, Claire Jurgensmeyer and Thomas M. Jurgensmeyer Jr.; his great grandchild Colette Anderson; his stepgrandchildren, Sarah Hebert, Joseph Hebert, Caleb Reed, Daniel Reed (Sabrina), James Reed (Arquette), Carolina Reed, Rosemary Reed, Samuel Reed, Robin Reed, Sara Cross, William Cross, Liam Cross, Aiden Cross, Lyle Cross and Eloise Cross; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Mason Reed, Emreigh Reed, Sydney Reed and Adeline Reed. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Stover Funeral Home and Crematory (177 N Holliday St, Strasburg, VA 22657). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Bosco Catholic Church (315 N Main St, Woodstock, VA 22664).
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial donations made in Donald's name to St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Woodstock, VA, or to a charity of one's choice.
