With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Allen Saunders of Edinburg, Virginia, who passed away on October 14, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Fortune and Helen Mae Barefoot Saunders; and his brother Kenny Saunders. He is survived by: his wife Penny Suzanne Ferguson Saunders; his children, Beau Saunders (Amy) of Charlottesville, VA and Emily Saunders (Jaime) of Meadows; his stepdaughters, Leslie Eldredge (Steven) of Durham, NC and Michelle Cuccherini (Tom) of Culpeper, VA; his siblings, Maxine Saunders, Howard Saunders, Marvin Saunders, Harold Saunders and Billy Saunders; and his grandchildren, Alyssa Nevaeh Saunders, Izabella Grace Saunders, Elizabeth Marie Carter, Gabriel James Finnagan Helms, Luna Mae Josephine Helms, Thomas Gregor Cuccherini and Collin Michael Cuccherini.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heishman Funeral Service (159 N Main St, Woodstock, VA 22664). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (822 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701).
