Douglas R. Bailey Obituary
Douglas R. Bailey, 79, of Elkton, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 4, 1943, in Rockingham County, Virginia and was the son of the late Richard and Zelda Dean Collier.
Mr. Bailey was a member of National Street Rod Associates and Carpenters Local. Doug loved attending local car shows and thoroughly enjoyed antique cars.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Bailey; children, Dion Bailey of Stuarts Draft, Brenda Roach and husband, Bobby of Elkton, and Dawn Williams and husband, Kerry of Grottoes; grandchildren, Caleb Bailey and companion, Christine of Grottoes, Josh Bailey and wife, Callie of Grottoes, Aerika Williams of Grottoes, Quinton Williams and wife, Marisa of Grottoes, Jessica Lam of Elkton, Faith Bailey of Grottoes and Luke Bailey of Grottoes; great-grandchildren, Kyle Bailey, Easton Puffenbarger, Auston Williams, Layna Puffenbarger, and Colt Bailey all of Grottoes; siblings, Leon "Sonny" Bailey, Jr. of Elkton and Donald "Donnie" Bailey of Harrisonburg.
A funeral service will be conducted 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial to follow at Dean Mountain Cemetery in Elkton.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the funeral home.
