She was predeceased by: her parents, Roscoe Hayter and Carrie Foster Hayter; her husband Leo Hockett Sr.; and her brother Roscoe Hayter Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Eloise Hockett, Nancy Castillo and Leo "Bud" Hockett, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Helen Hockett; her grandchildren, Devin Castillo, Carol Boudreaux (Joe) and Ty Hockett (Tanya); her great grandchildren, Daxtyn Castillo, Jake Boudreaux (Ally), Joey Boudreaux (Savannah), Emory Friedman (Jon), Mason Carroll (Gavin) and Peyton Hockett (Dan); and her great great grandchild Claribel Friedman.
A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:45 AM. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Holston Conference Cemetery (30461 Garnand Dr, Emory, VA 24327).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Glade Spring Baptist Church "Good for Nothing Ministry".
