It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Henry Simmons of Evergreen, Virginia, who passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Ragland Simmons; his parents, Mary Lizzie Ranson Simmons and Clarence Burnette Simmons; and his son Ricky Arnold Simmons. He is survived by: his children, Cindy Camper (David), John Simmons (Kim), Renee Moore (Le) and Tanya Robertson (Wade); his daughter-in-law Ann Simmons; his grandchildren, Karleigh Ison (Hunter), Carter Simmons, Kirsten Moore, Peyton Simmons, Nixon Robertson and Beth Bollinger Frady; his great grandchild Reyna Ison; his brother Howard Franklin Simmons (Maxine); and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Stanley and Ray White. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
