He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert D. Thomas and Hazel A. Thomas; and his siblings, Edsel, Robert Marcus, Anita Dodson (Henry), Pauline Geiger (Grover) and Janet Herring (Gene).

He is survived by : his wife Linda K. Thomas (Montgomery); his children, Jeffrey Thomas of Kilmarnock, VA and Lori Kelly (Martin) of Whitestone, VA; and his brother Dan (Frances). He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
