He was predeceased by: his parents, Norton Hempstead and Pauline Hempstead; his sister Wanda Wilkins; and his granddaughter Adeline Gleeson. He is survived by: his children, Scott Hempstead (Annette Iannucci) and Lisa Gleeson (Philip); his brother N. Richard Hempstead (Jo); and his grandchildren, Abigail, Asa and Amelia.
