He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Hammond and Wanda Hammond (Herndon). He is survived by: his wife Karen Key; his daughter Kristin Hammond; his son-in-law Kirk A. Hurd; his brother Richard "Dick"; his sister-in-law Maureen Hammond (Stapleton); and his niece Bridgette Hammond.
