He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Lewis and Fannie Lewis; and his former wife Bernice. He is survived by: his wife Carmelita Dykes Lewis; his children, Gina Lewis of Alexandria, VA, Rodney Lewis (Misha) of Severn, MD, Roy Dykes (Bernadine) of Clifton, VA and Alexander Lewis (Angela) of Washington, DC; his grandchildren, Mashaad, Bailey and Mikayla; his siblings, Henry Lewis and Novella Wiggins of Battleboro, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Walter Lawson of Virginia Beach, VA, Olive Lawson of Virginia Beach, VA and Evelyn Lewis of Battleboro, NC.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.
