It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Horne Maher of Fairfax, Virginia, who passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roman L. Horne and Margaret Perkins Horne. She is survived by: her children, Colin Maher (Meghan Oldfield) of Canberra, Australia, Lindsay Snyder (Geoff) of Piedmont, California and Katy Maher (Nick Hedquist) of Washington, DC; her siblings, Emily Ray, Allen Horne and Amy Horne; and her grandchildren, Zoe Snyder, Violet Snyder, Kieran Maher and Rowan Maher.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Martha's memory to First Book, National Public Radio, or the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
