He was predeceased by: his father Robert Douglas; and his sister Patricia. He is survived by: his wife Lynne; his sons, Michael and Andrew; his daughters-in-law, Vandana and Elena; his grandson Bheem; his siblings, Robert, Jean, Deborah and Thomas; and also Kathryn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at John's Hopkins Hospital.
