He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Shafer and Irene Shafer. He is survived by: his wife Naomi Shafer; his children, Philip (Aileen) and Helena Shafer-Jones (Donavan); and his brother Joseph Shafer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
