He is survived by: his wife Brenda Joyce Downey; his children, Angela DeVico (Anthony) and Leonard Scott Thornton (Peggy); his granddaughters, Julia Dewire (Nathan), Ashley Potter (James) and Katie Koss (Robert); and his aunt Frances Dowling.
