We announce the death of George Staples Weddle of Fancy Gap, Virginia, who passed away on June 14, 2026, at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon "Buster" Weddle and Burnice Jane Burnett Weddle; his brother David Pierce Weddle; his grandparents, Franklin Pierce Burnett, Maggie Marshall Burnett and Rita Weddle; his great-grandparent Simon Weddle; and his brother-in-law Doug Meredith.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Meredith Weddle; his son John; his daughter-in-law Kim Weddle of Woodlawn; his son Paul Weddle of Fancy Gap; his grandchildren, Aila Boyd, Jordan and Logan Weddle; his stepmother Mary Weddle of Galax; his brother Leon; and his sisters-in-law, Dianne Weddle of Advance, NC and Shirley Meredith of Fancy Gap. He is also survived by his family, especially his mother.
