He is survived by: his siblings, Walter Barksdale (Mildred) of Richmond, VA, Charlie T. Barksdale (Mattie) of Farmville, VA, George Barksdale (Nellie) of Farmville, VA and Onie Barksdale Lawrence of Keysville; his sister-in-law Trenna Barksdale of Keysville, VA; his aunt Mary Brown of New York; and his close friends, Adolph Watkins and Herbert Byrd. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Bland-Reid Funeral Home (413 Griffin Blvd, Farmville, VA 23901).
