She was predeceased by: her father Homer Stephen Turner; the father of her children Claude Herman Handy; her husband David Henderson Shively, Sr.; her siblings, Shirley Turner Moore, Marie Foster, Oran Akers "Bob" Turner, Walter Turner, Cecil "Mop" Turner and Clyde Roosevelt Turner; and her half-siblings, Catherine "Cassie" Seagraves, Gene Turner and Irvin Turner.
She is survived by: her mother Lillian Mize Turner; her children, Deena Whitlow (Bill) of Henry, VA, Renee Fulcher (Jeff) of Ferrum, VA and Ricky Handy of Stuart, VA; her granddaughters, Shannon Gillian (Christian), Tennille Fizzano (Matt) and Nicole Whitlow; her great grandchildren, Carlena Fizzano and Bella Fizzano; her stepchildren, Sherry Leigh Fulton, Nancy Jefferson (Ron), Elizabeth Shively (Darryl) and David Shivley, Jr.; her brother Curtis Turner; and her caregivers, Louise Webb, Pat Hall, Brandi Mullins, Lori Beth Watkins-Cassell, Bonnie Gusler, Peggy Hale, Marilyn Cassidy and Jamie Elgin. She is also survived by 6 step grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
