He is survived by: his wife Betty Thompson; his children, Teresa Burton (Randy) of Ronnie, Thompson, Jr. and Lonnie A. Thompson (Shannon); and his grandson Chris Burton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Book Hotel Endicott Assembly Church of God (1096 Runnett Bag Rd, Ferrum, VA 24088). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
