It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phillip Wayne Rakes of Fieldale, Virginia, who passed away on June 14, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Rakes and Bootsy Slaughter Rakes; his wife Gracie Beasley Rakes; his siblings, Linda Hall, Glenda Rakes and Jimmy Rakes; his grandson Russell Beasley; his former life partner Betty Cannady Coleman; and his pet Alex Barkley.

He is survived by : his children, Shannon Slade (Heath) and Christopher Rakes (Tammy); his stepchildren, Rhonda Case (Jimmy), Suzie Beasley and Robert Beasley; and his grandchildren, Sheree Beasley Rutherford (Andrew) and Trey Case (Joy Somatanai).
