He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Burgess and Mary Louise Maupin Knowles. He is survived by: his wife Constance M. Knowles; his son Ricardo Ray Martin; his grandchildren, Emberly and Nathan Martin; his great grandchildren, Luci, Hadley, Charlotte and Maxwell; and his siblings-in-law, Timmy McMillan (Theresa) and Jan Eavers (Eddie).
