She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Riley and Zella Hart Riley; her husband Thurman Franklin Whorton; her daughter Beverly K. Figgins; her siblings, Carl Kelly Kiker, Grady Lee Kiker and Joan Warring; and her grandson Russell Lee Whorton Figgins.

She is survived by: her daughters, Jo Ann Henderson (Eddie) of Front Royal, Norma Jean Shaw (Matthew) of Drakes Branch, VA and Donna Grimsley (Sam) of Bentonville, VA; her siblings, Edward Kiker, Keith Kiker and Connie S. Wiley; her sister-in-law Frances Aycock Kiker; and her son-in-law Russell Figgins (Stacy).
