He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert and Florence Evans Knapp of Scarsdale; and his siblings, June Halloby, John R. Knapp Jr., Arthur Knapp and Marilyn Darling.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Knapp; his children, Craig Knapp Jr. (Katrina), William "Bill" Knapp, Krystle Smith (Shannon) and Alyssa Schmitt (Ashley); his grandchildren, Cory Knapp, Leah Dalton, Gwendalyn Knapp, Abigail Knapp, Matthew Smith and Katharine Schmitt; and his great grandchildren, Aundrea Stump and Avery Stump. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gardner Funeral Home (202 E Oxford St, Floyd, VA 24091). A prayer was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
