We announce the death of James Ervin Mannon Jr. (Floyd, Virginia), who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 89. James Ervin will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ervin Mannon Sr. and Lucille Mannon. He is survived by: his siblings, Betty Mannon Hylton and Wayne Mannon; his wife Martha Quesenberry; his daughter Judy Weddle; his sister-in-law Diane Mannon; his friends, Irvine and Loretta Hylton; his son-in-law Kendall Weddle; his granddaughter Jessi Brevard (Chris); his great grandchildren, Caleb, Emma, Anna and Jimmy; his siblings-in-law, Hebron and Doris Quesenberry; his nephew Bill; and his nieces, Wanda, Melissa, Tammy, Denise and Tina. He is also survived by many great-nephews and nieces, and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Gardner Funeral Home (202 E Oxford St, Floyd, VA 24091). A reception will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice.
