She was predeceased by: her parents, Massie L. Johns and Hallie Mae Hicks Johns; her husband Herbert Hicks, Sr.; her son Roy W. Hicks; and her siblings, Aubrey Johns, Wilma King, Noey Johns, Franklin Johns and James Johns.
She is survived by: her children, Herbert Lee Hicks, Jr. (Betty) of Madison Heights, Louise Irby (Wayne) of Fort White, FL, Joan Marie Gibbs of Forest and Bertha H. Provenza of Forest; her grandchildren, Ross Beverly (Bonnie), Don Haynes (Rachel), Jennifer Gibbs, Chris Dean and Michele Dean; and her sister Annie Maples of Delaware. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
