It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Joe Smith of Forest, Virginia, who passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ora Lee Davis Smith and Edgar C. Smith; and his siblings, Gene Smith, Buck Smith, Lucille Brown and Opal Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Smith; his children, Betsy Hairston of Roanoke, Virginia, Tony Smith of Roanoke, Virginia and Susan VanHoy Boyd (David) of Forest, Virginia.; and his grandchildren, Andre'Hairston Jr. (Micheline), Aysha Hairston, Travis Smith (Jess), Ashley Myers (Trey), Jordan Ward (Taylor), Hunter Boyd and Taylor Boyd.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bradley's Funeral Home (938 N Main St, Marion, VA 24354). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
