Eric Allen Caplinger Obituary
We announce the death of Eric Allen Caplinger of Forest, Virginia, who passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 73. Eric will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Blaine Caplinger and Joyce Brampton Caplinger; his son Daniel Caplinger; and his granddaughter Caleigh Anne. He is survived by: his wife Linda Dennis Caplinger; his children, Nathanael C. Caplinger (Teresa), Jennifer Claybrook (Frank) and Jessica Holder (Justin); his grandchildren, Jordan (Tyler), Dani Jo, Emma, Mattie, Claire, Judah, Jaxyn, Jade and Jemma; his great grandchildren, Harper and Arlo; his brother Harold B. "Tim" Caplinger (Rita); and his close friend Ben Clark.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Forest Community Fellowship (1463 Thomas Jefferson Rd, Forest, VA 24551).
