With solemn reverence, we commemorate James Mays of Forest, Virginia, whose life came to an end on July 25, 2025 at the age of 76, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Anothony Wayne "Tony" Mays; his parents, Richard Daniel Mays and Mattie Cash Mays; his grandmother Georgie Campbell Mays; his aunts, Helen Capps, Corrine Johnson and Mary Campbell; and his siblings, Richard Mays, Jr., Wayne Mays, Philip Mays, Anne Redwine and Iris Mays.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Campbell Mays; his daughter Amy Kelley (Brian); his granddaughters, Campbell and Addy Kelley; his siblings, Danny Mays, Greg Mays, Gracie Ann Gunnell "Jeff" and Gail Brandenburg; and his sister-in-law Peggy Mays. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory (427 Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
