He was predeceased by: his parents, Janet Ruth McDonald (Scotty) and James Franklin Sonner; and his siblings, Jimmy Sonner and Victoria Sonner. He is survived by: his wife Roberta Sonner; his stepchildren, Jonathon (Danielle), Skylar, Hunter, Noah, Shane, Connor (Amerisa), Meagan (Robbie) and Logan (Kaitlin); his grandchildren, Harlie, Skyla, Paxton, Baylor and Haven; and his sisters, Sue (Mike) and Robin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers please consider the National Center for Healthy Veterans or Central and Southwest Virginia Honor Flight.
