She was predeceased by: her parents, James Maxey Bowles and Nora Catherine Atkins Bowles; her husband Henry Thomas Hicks, Jr.; and her son Sanford Lee Rockecharlie. She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Gregory (Gary), Vicky Lang (Preston) and Pam Wilmouth; her grandchildren, Rebecca Myers (Malcolm), Nicole Crain, Kristin Jacobs (Drew), Lauren Baker (Nate), Johnny Bartell (Mandy), Tammy Gutleber (Jon), Heather Byfield (Chris), Chris Wilmouth (Megan) and Morgan Thomas (Mathew); and her brothers, Raymond Bowles and Roger Bowles. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
