He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeptha McGlothlin and Clarice McGlothlin; his sister-in-law Audrey McGlothlin; and his nephew Chris Phelps. He is survived by: his wife Janice McGlothlin; his children, Amy Moon (Glenn) of Evington, Virginia, Dr. Joey Arthur (Hanna) of Evington, Virginia, Julie Affeldt (Guy) of Buford, Georgia and Mark McGlothlin of Forest, Virginia.; and his brothers, Richard (Carol Ann) and Phil McGlothlin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
