With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leslie Austin Pankey of Forest, Virginia, who passed away on May 27, 2026 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Gordon Pankey and Gladie Myrtle Adams Pankey; and his nephew Brian Ripley. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ripley Pankey; his brother Ralph Elwood Pankey; his brothers-in-law, Robert Wayne Ripley (Christie) and Charles Edward Ripley (Benita); his nieces and nephews, Matthew Ripley (Jesi), Bradley Ripley (Anna), Forrest Ripley (Laura), Angela Ripley (Bradley Johnson) and Krystal R. Kincaid (Brad); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jonah Ripley (Lindsey), Eden Ripley, Braiden Ripley, Aria Ripley and Silas Elizabeth Ripley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the "Faith, Hope, and Love Building Fund" at: Timberlake Christian Church, 20261 Lynchburg Hwy, Lynchburg, VA 24502-3978.
